CREATE CHANGE BY PARTICIPATING IN MY SOCIAL CAMPAIGN
COVID-19 is spread by droplets that comes from the mouth while speaking, sneezing, or coughing. Even though masks can't combat the virus alone scientists have shown that wearing masks reduces COVID-19 cases over time. This social project is created to educate the public about the importance of masks and its impact in the community especially during a pandemic. This project also encourages the people to wear masks to establish a safe environment for each other and help recommend alternatives to those who cannot afford to buy masks for everyday use because of financial instability.
"The Aboitiz Foundation also set up a fundraising page called Help Our Health Workers Fight COVID-19, to raise money for PPE sets in coordination with the University of the Philippines (UP) Medical Foundation and The Outstanding Women in the Nation's Service Foundation. As of April 14, the foundation has raised P1.82 million. On March 18, the Aboitiz Group donated 5,700 N95 masks to the Department of Health (DOH) and the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM)". This foundation can be a great potential sponsor to helping poor Filipino families access PPEs, especially masks in a pandemic. And you also have the potential to help mitigate the spread of this harmful virus by following the rules and regulations organized specifically to fight Covid-19.
WHAT CAN WE DO AS A PART OF THE COMMUNITY?
Advertising programs to educate the community about the importance of masks during the pandemic .
Making recommendations or alternatives of disposable masks to prevent the increase of waste or expenses
Encourage the community to wear masks
While previous governmental services have explained the importance of masks via posters, radio, and television campaigns, they have not taken advantage of social media as a means of connecting with the community. This project fills that gap.
